Very smooth. Alaskan brewery does it again! The spruce tips are noted in the after taste which a little different but makes for a nice beer IMO.

Alaskan Brewing Co, Juneau, AK Winter ale with spruce tips. First tasted a beer with spruce tips at a microbrewery in Skagway, Alaska. The spruce tips give the beer a unique flavor but is not overpowering.

Reminds me in a lot of ways of an American mega-brew lager, only better. There are hints of sweetness (blueberry, hint of pine lumber). No overpowering pininess, but does leave an almost piney tingle on the tongue.

Very good winter ale brewed with spruce tips and not to heavy. Goes down very easily for a winter.
