Like a fine wine it gets better with age. Very deep rich and complex. Lots of flavors going in this one. Wish it wasn't retired.

Draft on 12-5-12. Barrel aged version. Really good and balanced.

Enjoyed 01-12-2012. Two years aged. Pours dark brown almost black with a foamy mocha head that disappears quickly. Black licorice and figs followed by a large alcohol nose. Tastes of dates and anise shows up behind a nice roasty maltiness. The alcohol shows up on the back end but not overpowering. This beer has aged very nicely.
