B-. Very smooth, warming alcohol, but sort of bland.

Easily the best porter I've had in an American pub. It was expensive and only offered in 8 oz glass, but since I have had it, no other porter stands out in my mind as being better!

Deschuttes really does seem to have figured out how to brew the perfect high gravity beer. I had the opportunity to try the XXV right after having the XXIV. To me there was just a little more alcohol bite in the XXV. I imagine this will mellow out as the beer ages. I hope I can find this beer next year.

I'm enjoying this yearly tradition of Deschutes Birthday Reserves. XXV pours rich and black. The porter celebrates twenty-five years of this Bend, Oregon brewery and like last years, this one is a beauty. A richer porter, both in taste and alcohol, the XXV glides down your throat sweetly leaving behind a slight roast after taste. Like any good porter, this doesn't scream "beer!" when you take a deep breath from the top of the mug. It's nectarous and pleasing to the nose and yes, inviting. The only dreadful thing about XXV is that it will only be here for about a year.

Pretty good. Their porter is solid as it is, so its a real treat to taste a barreled beefed up version of it. I'd like to try this one again when I'm not completely smashed, before it goes.

Bourbon cask aged imperial porter. Amazing beer. Deep rich choc and tart berry aroma. The taste is rich, smooth dark fruit and oak. I love this beer. It is the 25 anniversary edition to celebrate Black Butte Porter. Great tribute to one of my fav beers.
