Taste did not stand out at first, but as it aired out the flavor did also, a very subtle 9.4%. Would like to try the barrel aged.

Full bodied, dark fruits, slight caramel, roasty stout, deep dark pour; potent sipper

Very strong sipping beer, with strong bourbon flavor. Very good. 2-1/2 Stars. (Popped a top)

Pours with no head. Sublimely dark and syrupy, absolutely no light passed thru the glass. It slaps you with a huge molasses and cappuccino flavors then finishes with a bit of black licorice. The alcohol is buried deep in the flavors and not overpowering for a 9.4 abv I enjoyed this but can see where some would not.

Keeps the edge on this heavier beer (Barleys)

Average american imperial.. Such a huge let down, been waiting to try this one for over a year and this was a 5 star recommendation too.. Drinkable, goes down easy I guess for a 9.4% abv..but DEFINITELY not top 100 material.. Taste more anise than chocolate or oatmeal..Lacks that strong, rich flavor that Speedway stout, founders breakfast stout, and terrapin wake n bake all provide .. This is not in that ballpark unfortunately.. I'll be generous and give it 3 stars... Way overrated
