An outstanding barleywine. Strong and full of flavor. Better than Sierra Nevada bigfoot.

Sweet for a barley wine with maybe a bit of oxidation.

Very smooth! Caramel flavor

Copper colored pour into pint glass producing off-white head and moderate lacing. Aromas of dark fruits, sweet malt and ethanol. Flavors of caramel, sherry, figs and warmth of alcohol. Medium body and mild carbonation. High alcohol content is not very subtle but it is still very drinkable. Enjoyable and I would have again.

Born 2011; drank Jan 2012. Color is described as a burnt copper with a light white head. The aroma is a sweet, hoppiness which the brewer defines as a bit sherry. The initial taste is a smooth, soft and sour beer with a bit if a champagne taste, and then the beer finishes with a tannin that is a unmistakeable. Powerful at 10.1%. 3 of 5 stars.

Nice caramel brown color with a nice light tab head. Malts, mild hops, and a hint of caramel on the nose. Complex flavors marry well. Caramel, slight cardboard, mild bitterness. Hint of dark fruits coming out. Nice beverage. Mine was born in 2009 and I had January 2012. Would definitely have again.

Alcohol in the first mouthful with lots of hop flavor in the finish. Not overly bitter with good maltiness lurking behind the hops.

Too much alcohol heat for my tastes. Was hoping for something smoother, but all I got was hotness covering up anything else. Gave the other three of my four-pack away. 2/5.
