It has a very tart aroma, reminiscent of a Flemish sour, with stronger notes of tart apples and sourdough bread, with less apparent aromas of cinnamon and spice. It has a slightly hazy, translucent deep rusty amber color with little head. The flavor is overwhelming, exceptionally strong but remarkably smooth. It may be too sweet or rich for some, and probably isn't a beer you'd want to sit down and have a six pack of (if it was available that way). But it is a remarkably flavorful beer. An experience. It is smooth, creamy, sweet, and spicy. There are notes of innumerable spices and a strong presence of apple, bourbon, and brandy. It conjures associations with apple-cinnamon crisp or a Christmas mulled wine. This will go down as one of the few beers I've ranked 5/5.
