Dark as pitch. Mild, flavorful hop taste, but very smooth. This one is a home run.

Bitter, hoopy, boozy and a hint of chocolate. For 10% ABV, not bad. Nothing great.

After letting it sit & warm a little it got boozy :)

Very nice hoppy tasty beer with a very dry finish. Not getting the boozyness. But it was bottled in Aug, of 2012 so a Lil over a year to mello out some. 4 star beer

Big, bold, and intense! Pours a near black with a solid beige head that is partially soapy and partially creamy. Retention and lace are both decent if not exemplary, while the nose presents a roasted maltiness that almost seems like a charred coffee roast alongside some solid piney hops and some alcohol. This roasty booziness nearly recollects a barrel-aged imperial stout with fresh dry-hop additions. Tastewise, it begins toasty and chocolatey, with a touch of ashy-ness, before a piney, rind heavy, quite dry finish with some lingering boozy warmth. Fairly smooth and silky on the mouth and with a dryness that seeps and spreads alongside a medium body. Quite solid, if probably rounding to a shade below the 4.5 I am giving it for the slight ashy quality.

Huge flavor, toasty undertones, fruity middle, very smooth. Fantastic beer.

Very bitter on the first drink. Mellows out but needs to be better balanced. There are much better black ales. Hop selection & beer just don't match up in my opinion

Has a little hoppy note with some chocolate ends. Not a bad Black IPA.
