Black body with a nice thick off-white head made up of thick bubbles with decent retention and some clingy lace. Great dry coffee, bitter cocoa, and burnt toast nose that is nearly reminiscent of an imperial stout, though with faint whiffs of pine. Taste is similar with some chocolate malt briefly before a very dry roasty finish that lingers in a fashion much akin to that of pure cocoa. The dryness is intense if not exactly bitter, in a very dry stout sort of way. Body is a bit light at a touch lighter than medium, but maybe just seems this way in some illusory manner as so many of this beer's qualities scream "STOUT" making me expect more. Carbonation is mildly tingly and fairly slight. A very solid brew.

Pours black with cream color head. Sweet and roasty nose. Dry dark flavored with hop bitterness. Bitter chocolate and piney hop. Roasted and chocolate malts complete the taste. Pretty good

Tastes like a citrus hoppy bomb one would expect from an IPA but with a coffee overtone. Real nice!

Strong aroma of toasted barley. Smooth start and rough finish. Aftertaste is short (luckily).

Pours dark with big tawny head that quickly dissipated. Bitter and burnt flavors predominate. Could have used more malt body to balance. I'd drink it again but won't seek it out.

Malty. Bitter. Balanced. Sharp on the tongue with carbonation. Roasted coffee with the bitter.

Pours black with cream color head. Dry dark flavored with hop bitterness. Bitter chocolate and piney hop. Roasted and chocolate malts.
