kopextacy - January 28, 2014This is a great imperial stout! Smokey chocolatey and mildly sweet. A good balance.
web - January 25, 2014Much mellower than expected from Lagunitas. An enjoyable Stout, and Imperial one at that. Very sweet, which I enjoy, with a coffee-like character and moderate bitterness that fades over time. Most agreeable for me when warmed up for an hour and a half. A pleasant surprise (though still moderately strong) from a brewer that is generally too intense for my liking.

specksofdust - July 17, 2013Taste is coffee and alcohol. Not as thick or complex as I'd like. I won't seek it out again. As it warms up, the lack of thickness and complexity begins to be at odds with the overly alcoholy taste.

chulk771 - March 5, 2013Slight carbonation, moderately smooth, light-mid body. Malt sweet, chocolate, coffee balance alcohol. Still have a slight burn though. Flavor is short lived. I like the sweetness, but it's not as thick or complex as I like. 3.65
