Don't know if there are multiple variations of this brew, but ABV is 8.1% per the can, not 9.5% as shown in the details. Very good American black ale, smooth, moderately hoppy, very slight malty taste. Shares the properties of both an IPA and a stout, both of which I love. Light coffee and slightly nutty (dark walnut) taste. Great beer!

One of the best black IPAs I've had, very little to no coffee taste which I like profile - January 7, 2015
Strong but not overly bitter. Very good dark IPA.

Okay hoppy beer (Bier Station) profile - February 14, 2014
A great black ipa. A little hoppy but not huge. A little malty but not much. A little boozy on the end . This is a great balance of flavors and I like the boozy finish. Great everyday beer! profile - October 8, 2013
Great beer! If you blind feed me I would never guess i was drinking a black ipa. Floral almost a chocolate strawberry nose and great honey middle and not very malty good hop finish. Odell always delivers

Decent black ipa. I would say this is a little more stout than ipa. Decent hops but a bit darker and maltier than most ipas.
