Pours dark amber but translucent, enormous hop fragrance: pine and a little citrus. I would have guessed Simcoe ... Lots of hops up front, middle has a nice balance of hop and spicy rye malt, finishes with an almost creamy hop/malt crescendo. Really good beer, more of an imperial IPA made with rye than an imperial rye DIPA. If you are looking for lots of rye, like me, my top 3 are HeBrew RIPA, Southern Tier 2X Rye, and Great Lakes Rye of the Tiger. These have more of a rye presence, while this Green Flash is more focused on the hops. That being said, I am going to buy another 4 pack of this beer because it is delicious! 10/31/14 Bottle 5 stars Discontinued in 2016

This is a very good rye imperial. Malty sweet with just right amount of rye and bitterness to balance. Bottle, September 2014.

Nice deep auburn-red color. The great hoppy nose hits you right away. good thick head. Strong resiny sweet hops with a nice malty taste. Some rye spice at end. Wish it were more. Overall it's interesting

Not at hoppy as it looks. Almost refreshing.

Solid. The rye is subtle, which was a little disappointing. Super hoppy, which I loved. Pretty malty, so well-balanced, but I would have loved to see the rye cut through the malt a bit to make this feel a but more west coast. Strong hop aroma.

Less carbonated than most GF beers. Hopefully the start of a trend for them.

Pretty bold for my tastes, but a flavorful entry into American Imperial RyePAs. Gorgeous red through the light. Decent and different aroma.
