Served in imperial pint glass. Beautiful honey color. Typical strong Germanic lager nose. Strong alcohol taste under neath, little too strong even for 6.9% ABV. Some sweetness in there but not even to balance. Honey flavor barely comes through and perhaps a bit too carbonated. Not bad but below average beer. I wanted this to be better.

Lancaster Rumspringa Golden Bock
:
Spring time is Bock time. Rumspringa is a maibock (May bock) named for the period of time when Amish adolescents get to cut loose and explore the ways of the "English" world.
Rumspringa has a medium amber body and fluffy off white head. Honey, yeast, and alcohol aromas lead off the nose. The mouthfeel is creamy and slick; carbonation is very tingly. The flavor of this bock is pretty authentic to its German predecessors; malty, yeasty, and slightly hoppy. The honey is mildly sweet on the finish, but there is plenty of booze warmth to balance the sweetness. This is a bock I'll be going back to.

Tastes a lot stronger than 6.6% and not very smooth. Kind of had an acetoney sweetness like a high gravity malt liquor. Interesting but I couldn't drink another one probably.
