Smooth

Slightly hoppier than most stouts, lacks real caramel or malty taste. Pleasant aftertaste, slight notes of coffee. Good effervescence very drinkable for a stout. The smell has more of a malt presence than the taste, the head is minimal. A solid beer, not to be chugged but not to impress anyone. I didn't expect the hoppy flavor but in typical Sierra Nevada fashion it was.

Brown head that, unfortunately, dissipated rather quickly. Crisp flavor, but tastes over carbonated. As much as I like Sierra Nevada, I was disappointed in their stout. 2 stars
