 TrueCyan2 - May 9, 2013
TrueCyan2 - May 9, 2013Being semi-new to the hoppy beers family, I'm just starting to appreciate the various flavors that hops offers a good, solid beer like Sierra Nevada. I enjoyed the citrus flavor that was pulled from the dry hops. Not a gulper or an all day drinker, but still pretty good!

TrueCyan2 - May 9, 2013"Sierra Nevada Torpedo Ale is a big American IPA - perfectly balanced yet full of flavor and aromas that highlight the complex citrus, pine, and herbal character of whole-cone American hops."

E. - April 27, 2013I believe this is a perfect IPA, and let me tell you why. This is the definitive IPA for me, meaning that everything an IPA is supposed to be is here: hop flavor, hop bitterness, and just the right amount of malt to balance but never drown out the hops. That said, it's not going to surprise you with any new, unique flavors you've never had; it's just going to be a damn good, solid IPA One that hits every note perfectly. I say that for regularly available, year round IPAs...it's the best. You can never go wrong with a 6pk of torpedo.

 Mr. Marcus - April 21, 2013
Mr. Marcus - April 21, 2013Delicious burnt orange peel and Sierra Nevada pine trees on the nose. Smooth caramel goodness on the palate. Hoppy bitterness with a nice long finish of coffee and good tobacco at the long haul. Good drinking IPA. Big and flavorful.

Higgsyboy - April 19, 2013Love it. This is the beer that birthed my passionate love for IPAs. Great hops, aroma, and bitterness. It's got that Sierra-Nevada back taste, and is my go-to IPA for pubs.

drireland - April 15, 2013Great hop aroma, bursting with citrus and pine, nice resin on the palate, clean mouthfeel and crystal clear...four mugs!

 specksofdust - April 12, 2013
specksofdust - April 12, 2013Pretty good, mild, refreshing IPA. Nice foamy head. Pine was the predominant flavor. Extremely drinkable and palatable, though not overly interesting. Tastes better cold. Not so sure about the "extra" claim. EDIT - had it again and this time it was so distractingly skunky that I don't know whether its a bad batch or just tastes that way.
