lieselkh7@hotmail.com - December 24, 2012Bitter bitter bitter but it almost tastes like the kind of bitter that results from adding too much turmeric and cardamom to a dish. It's very spicy and I can't put my finger on the spices (bitter clove? Cardamom? Nutmeg I think. All very bitter but interesting at least). I don't hate it. It's enjoyable and one bottle gets me tipsy. This is what I'm drinking while visiting my family for Christmas so that I can stand to be around them and it's working great :-)

Ricker888 - December 23, 2012A little too bitter and dark tasting for me. Hard to drink and get through. Not horrible though.

psychominister@gmail.com - December 21, 2012Smooth drinkability. Not too strong a flavor but definitely something to sip and savor. Very enjoyable with the hint of caramel and hops. For an experiment I'd say New Belgium was successful.

pcguitarwzrd - December 16, 2012Pours dark brown with fluffy khaki head. Nose is slightly metallic. Roasty dark malt and cigar tobacco flavor. Relatively light mouthfeel.
PS: OMG would you people STOP whining about the hops?!? If you don't like hops stick to bud light and apple cider and leave beer reviews to the grown ups.

btf19 - December 16, 2012I'm coping this review as its a good description- Interesting balance. First taste is hop APA ale-ness (albeit very abruptly) then you're left with this nice brown ale chocolatey warm winter taste. Very hoppy smell, very dark brown color. Nice taste, but an amazing split of taste From a noticeable bitter hit to the cool and ruminating winter ale flavor

crt@weblar.org - December 14, 2012Dark wheat malt & super hoppy. Bizarre combo, but deliciously addictive.
