Wasn't expecting woodsmoke as the dominant nose, and was immediately intimidated by it. Head dissipated very quickly. The smokiness in the taste was much more subtle and only hits toward the end. Coffee is strong in the middle, and again in the aftertaste, which also seems very salty. Not as thick as i expected after seeing the color. Wish I would have picked this one up over the holidays. There is something very comforting about this brew that makes me think of home by the fire on Christmas Day. Neat label on the bottle.

Medium body. Highly drinkable. Very smooth...kind of like velvet. A little bit of a smoky smell that didn't carry through to the taste. This is all malt and no hops. Really like this.

Head quickly dissipates. Nose of sweet roasted coffee, perhaps some toffee. Taste the oatmeal, coffee and hints of cocoa towards the end. Took some hints from other reviewers and let it warm a bit. Flavors come through much better. Overall, a good standard stout.
