Dark color is deceiving. Super refreshing and hoppy.

They use a hop I don't like and I think I've narrowed it down to Amarillo. This hop caused me to not care for their Union Jack and Double Jack. However, with the malty rye flavors in this brew work wonderfully and compliment that hop, creating a blissful bitter rye experience. The aroma is fantastic, and it pours very dark. The ABV caught me off guard as well.

Pours very dark, even for a black IPA. Great nose. Hoppy and toasty. Best black IPA I've had. Excellent.

Delicious, excellent black IPA. Great blend of citrus hops and dark malt, just he right amount of sweetness. Would be great with anything.

Woof! Nice dark IPA with a light rye taste that hits just before the traditional IPA bitterness. Nice brew from one of CA's best brewers!

OMG, one of the best tasting IPA ever! Delicious taste, not too empowering like other IPA's.. Perfect balance of favor and body. Yummy caramel notes, and malty taste in the palate. Cheers! 3/28/13
