Too hoppy

Tasted bottle. Deep mahogany red/brown color. Thick fizzy cream colored head. Aroma of resiny hops, roasted malts, caramel.

Dark caramel color, sweet piney hops linger on my tounge.

Nice malt flavor on the front and hoppy finish. Has a coffee and chocolate richness. I will get this again

Malty sweetness on the front and nice balanced bitterness on the finish. I taste a rich chocolate coffee flavor

Dark malt taste followed by bitter hops. If was just ok, hop flavor hung on back of tongue too long. Bottle, February 2013.

This seems to hit my palate the way I like a hoppy beer to do--it has sweetness on the front of the tongue but depth across the whole sip/swallow. Nice level of bitter aftertaste with lingering caramel sweetness. A little piney but not too much, and I taste very little on the citrus end. Maybe it's my imagination but the taste intensity was stronger when sipping from the bottle than from a glass. In the glass it is a deep dark amber, almost a reddish and almost opaque--beautiful.
