Had again in bottle. Pours a dark ruby red with a frothy white head that quickly dissipated. Figgy aromas but agree that it also has a medicinal note to it. Lighter in body and very smooth. As it warms up it open up too. It's a solid highly drinkable Scottish ale with a variety of dark fruit flavors like raisins figs and nuts. A rich dark fruit raisin and date finish. I think it was slightly better on cask but good overall.

Just okay... Boozy, heavy fruit presence, almost on the medicinal side, lacking the malty goodness that a top tier wee heavy provides... Needs some adjustments... Nice abv but add some malt..

Sweet, boozy, not as malty as I expected for the style....borderline medicinal aroma with a toffee and honey finish

Had on cask 8/16/13 at barcade Dark ruby red with a slight off white head and figgy aromas. My favorite beer from Middle Ages. On cask it really opens up in terms of flavor but I do like it a little more chilled. It's a solid highly drinkable Scottish ale with a variety of dark fruit flavors like raisins figs and nuts.
