Southern Tier comes through again. Great ale. Very balanced.

Awesome winter warmer. Potent and malty but not overly.

Pretty good brown ale. Somewhat flavorful and not too much hops.

Super Hoppy

Not sweet enough for a winter ale in my opinion. The hops are fairly bitter and dominate the flavor. Not an awful beer overall but probably the worst winter ale I've tried.

Kind of lacking in taste- nothing special.

Maybe I had a different batch, mine was 7% and really quite a satisfying ale. Winters are my favourite, and this one fit the mix very well. Hop-forward, as is characteristic for American ales, it did seem a bit convoluted with the hop-malt mixture at first, but had a deep, full, slightly piny/spicy taste and aroma, with a great, lingering aftertaste. Nothing overpowering, and by the end I really wanted another.

A real nice winter ale, smooth with a rich carmel color and amazing scents

The aroma is of the sweet malty wort of one's homebrew. The taste gets better as you go, initially coming off too bitter but then the layers of hop flavors start to step out from that malty start. Not a beer I'd get super-excited to see but enjoyable while it's there.
