A complex, sophisticated brew. Smoky, Carmel laden, light on the hops, easy on the palate but meaningful like a Frank Capra flick. The aftertaste is what gets me. It lingers like a good memory of better times. It reminds me of fall when winter is coming and the wool sweaters are on and you are cozying up next to a ripe young woman and her hair smells like autumn leaves and her lips are nothing but promises.

A bit disappointed, expecting more overall flavor. Very earthy and carbonated, with a unique hue.

Soapy? Whatever it was pretty much sucked to me. Not worth the price at all

With due deference to this legendary brew, it's a little to subtle for my palate. Prickly on the tongue, whisper of spice, surprisingly on the hoppy side. Sophisticated aftertaste, but makes me want a sweet, malty Rochefort 6.

Disappointed. One of the actual Trappist beers. Tastes bitter with a metallic (iron) taste. Too much carbonation. Surprised, wouldn't get again

Somewhat more bitter than most trappists I have tried, definitely more hops and citrus flavor

Fruity nose, delightful sour and goatiness.

My favorite Belgian so far. Nice brett funk.
