A dark Scottish ale with a fruity scent. It does not taste like beer or rum. It just tastes of oak tannins and slight vanilla. Not a bad taste but was hopeful of more. Mouthfeel was very thin and watery. With these flavors I think it would be better with a fuller body.

Aroma of malts with fruit. More like cherries. Brown color with very little head. Very sweet with faint bitterness. Scottish Ale with a hint of rum flavor. Very easy drinking. Very enjoyable!

Definitely taste the rum, starts well but finishes like hell

Its was ok. 3/5. It tasted like someone threw a light beer in a rum barrel and let it age. The bourbon ales are by far a better beer.

An interesting concept brew from Scotland. A beer aged with rum chips. You can really taste the rum notes amidst this good, solid body beer. Not too heavy or overwhelming of rum, as I expect. And not much beer hop texture in the palate either, but it does go down rather easy. Cheers from sunny Southern California, USA... Happy Independence Day! 7/4/13 profile - June 3, 2013
Good scotch ale style beer with good smooth finish. Great lace head. Slight rum hint from aging in rum cask. Adds a really good dimension to the beer. I want to brew this now.
