Sweet boozy malt with roasted character. Very thick mouthfeel. Another excellent offering from Stone. I'm happy they didn't overdo the hops.

Acidic. Not overly smooth

Strong peppery, coffee aroma. Chocolate, coffee flavor. Alcohol seems to mellow as the beer sits for a while.

Thick and dark. Chocolate, coffee, and a little smokey. Little sweet, little bitter. Alcohol well hidden, but warms you up.

Had 2004 aged about 4 years on tap at stone brewery. Absolutely delicious stout that aged to perfection at year 4.

Much like my thoughts on other stone beers - good but too intense to really enjoy it or drink much of it. The high alcohol interferes with what seem like great flavors.

2004 IRS aged in bourbon barrels. Extremely smooth and balanced. Bourbon nuances have mellowed with time.
