Smooth, rich, mellow taste of stout and viscous honey. Seductive and mellifluous, enhancing as it warms. A felicitous blend of ingredients, dark, inviting, and rewarding.

Imperial stout that isn't too sweet. There is a mead flavor but it comes after the smoky stout flavor. I like it but there is no way I would ever buy this for $13.50 for a 22 oz again. Insanely expensive. It was not unique enough for the price. Still for not being a fan of stout this was a wonderful experience. Good job dogfish head

Slight carbonation, mostly smooth. Mid bodied. Slight honey and fruit (sour) flavor upfront, roasted malt and spice on the back end. Complex flavor, balances ABV. 3.9

Dark brown to black in color very thick with a 1 finger tan head and chocolate aromas. Very bittersweet dark chocolate forward with a bit of an acrid overroasted malt taste. Thick and viscous with a sweeter chocolate finish, kind of like drinking molten chocolate. A little sweet for my taste probably from the honey but a decent stout.
Had it again 6/11/2014 and it seems much more balanced. Very enjoyable would definitely get again and an upgrade to 4 stars. The harsher areas were evened out and the beer is super complex chocolate but still a little harsh on the nose.

A bit much for me. Too sweet. Almost too much going on. I can only have a little bit.
