Black in color with a huge off white giant head and surprising aromas of coffee and roasted malt. Light to medium in body this beer is very odd for a black ipa. Has a roasted coffee forward then drying muted hop flavor. A very blah finish and as it warms up has a burnt coffee aftertaste. Not overly impressed with this one I have had much better black ipas

Confusing beer. The aroma and taste do not match. Coffee, citrus, and hops. Good flavor. Taste is over quickly. Not bad, but not memorable.

Interesting mismatch between nose and taste. Short finish. Hoppy but not overly so. Coffee-like. Burnt grain and citrus.

Mildly dry finish. Hoppy front leads to a mellow roasted malt finish. Hops not too citrusy to take over. Like smoked coca cola, well rounded and very drinkable.

Very porter like , pours a nice creamy head, dark in glass , I'm kinda torn between what I'm actually drinking lol. It has a mild hop to it also I am getting some grapefruit notes, pretty enjoyable beer!! I have not had many of these black IPAs but this one is pretty good another one I had would be Widmer Brothers pitch black IPA also good so I'm kinda digging it!!
