An IPA for people who are wary of IPAs.

Wow. That is quite a black IPA. Nice balance in the hops and malt.

Nice hoppy/bitter beer. Although called an IPA, taste more like a bitter porter or stout. Should not have the racer 5 label to avoid confusing this with the racer 5 IPA.

Pours dark and smooth like a stout. Nose like a strong stout. Nice roasted malt up front with a hoppy finish. Not as citrusy sweet as regular Racer 5, but a solid example of a black IPA. More like a lighter stout, though.

I like the ack Cannon better.

Very good beer with roasted taste, smooth finish. More like a light stout. Only thing that separates this one from the best black IPAs is lack of a strong hop bite in the end. Still very good. Bottle, Aug 2013.

Good malt up front with a hoppy finish. Not as citrusy sweet as the Racer 5 but an excellent example of a black ipa.

Bear Republic once again puts out a solid beer. Just what I expected from a black IPA. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

Pours a nice dark colour, clean head, but a bit light/thin given how it pours and it's 75IBU. More resemblant of an ale than an IPA
