bockboy@att.net - June 5, 2017B-. Hop and malt aroma, not much hop flavor. Heavy body and alcohol when warm.
jeevanmd - October 5, 2014Fruity nose - pears. Malty foretaste. Undertones of dark chocolate. Not very bitter at all for 80 IBU. For the price point, very good beer. I usually don't drink anything over 30 IBU and this is very enjoyable.
Higgsyboy - March 18, 2014For having such high IBUs, it does a good job of not being overly bitter. Hoppy nose, with a distinctly cheery mouthfeel, which is appreciated in such a dark ale, let alone one at so affordable a price. It fails to deliver on the finish though. Better than what I expected, but a long way yet to go.
