Pours a hazy orange from the bottle into a DFH IPA glass. Good lacing, a thin white head. Smell: nutty coffee and citrus and tropical fruit. Taste: the citrus/tropical takes the lead, with coffee and a slight hoppy bitterness to follow. Mouthfeel: light and IPA-like. Has a warming sensation on the back-end. Overall: you might think that a "coffee IPA" would not work, but it's actually delicious. It marries two of my favorite beverages: IPAs that have a fruity hop flavor, and coffee. Definitely worth a try. Probably Stone's best 2013 collaboration beer, with W00tstout close behind.

An ipa that is full of flavor with the bite rounded off

Excellent offering that doesn't sound like it would work. But it really does. Had on tap. Hoppy (Citra?) aroma on one side of your nose and coffee on the other. Dark amber color with light head. Not overly bitter or roasty. Tastes like hops were late additions for flavor & aroma. Hops first, then coffee finish. Easy to drink for such a high ABV beer. 48/50.

Aroma is initially straight citra, but faint coffee notes can be discerned especially as the head diminishes. Pours a bubbly deep amber with a almost audible bubbly head of good lace. Taste is fairly malty with just a faint hint of coffee, then dried up quickly with a light pine and fair grapefruit finish, and though the dryness lingers, a hint of coffee remains. Solid body and a lingering/creeping sort of tingly carbonation reminiscent a bit of an Italian soda. Quite a pleasure to drink and no hint of it's 8.7% warmth, though (at 42 IBU) drier than one might expect for a less than .5 BUGU.

Not as hoppy as expected. Very light coffee

Surprisingly Light amber in color with a thin white head that quickly dissipates and citrusy pine hop aroma. Very solid balance between coffee and a traditional ipa! 4-3-13. Copper colored with small off-white head. Head fades quickly. Initial flavor is a bitter citrus IPA but finishes with a fresh coffee bean flavor. Transforms in your mouth from ipa to iced coffee. Very interesting take on an ipa and very easy drinking.

Peppery, coffee aroma, but flavored more like an IPA.

They found a way to take the bitterness of coffee and IPA and have you taste both at the same time. You truly experience the balance between the two when it warms just slightly.

Not so hoppy but wow! Its as mucha cup of coffee as a glass of beer. Light brown, cloudy, with little head out of the bottle.
