Mild but good

It has a tall head with staying power, and a nose with good roasted malt and subtle coffee notes. There is a nice, even sweetness that doesn't overpower, but balances the bitterness nicely. It has a medium body and a long finish that turns bitter at the end.

Chocolaty. Hoppy at the end. Smooth ish. Not the best.

Excellent porter - nice and bitter - you can taste the roasted chocolate malt.

It's a good stout, nothing remarkable about the beer. I could session this beer and be happy at the end. I prefer my stouts to be un-sessionable. An important note is that the Brewery (which is also a restaurant) has a cheese sauce made with the stout. I could also session the sauce and be happy at the end. I prefer my cheese sauces stouty.

This is a robust beer that pairs well with food. Three stars on its own and four with food.
