Strong, crisp flavor and a full body

Hazy dark brown with Belgian Lace head. Aromas of malt, plums, and other dark skinned fruit. Medium bodied with soft, fine, carbonation. Malt is balanced with a touch of yeasty tartness. Chocolate and dark skinned fruit on the palate. Good stuff.

Plums, dates, bourbon, peat, pepper, and smoke arouse the nose. Powerful fruits, dark chocolate, pepper, bourbon, and hot spicy/burning finish. A superbly complex and unique beer.

Lots of chocolate and caramel up front; sweet, dried fruit gives way to licorice notes. This beer is nearly black in color. Had at PP 5/24/14.
