pcguitarwzrd - December 12, 2012Pours midnight black with a thin coffee-colored head. Nose was hard to pick up. (Probably just my sinuses) Wow. Mega-malt, molasses/toffee flavor with a little mocha-espresso and booze on the tail end. Hops present but stay strikingly muted. Also, the coffeeness at the end never gets bitter. Remarkably balanced for such a huge, complex beer. Mouthfeel is full and rich with a little alcohol prickle. Think half barleywine, half imperial stout. Well done, Schmaltz!
invaderbrim@sbcglobal.net - December 9, 2012Fantastic interesting blend. Hints of sweet slightly peppery notes tingle the taste buds. With the combination 16 hops and 16 malts it is a strange savory yet sweet mix that brings out a curious flavor. Great experience :)
