20AUG14, Against the Grain, Louisville, KY Draft, chalice Pours an opaque copper with medium off white head. Aroma is mildly earthy, but had a brightness that's unexpected. Maybe it's the fig, but I can't tell. Taste is initially malt and sweet, with some fig sharpness making a background appearance a little way through, then sticking around as the rest of the beer does out. It's a little funky. Well suited for the "Whim" style. I can't distinguish the fig, which might've been intentional. It finishes quite dry, but not in the most refreshing of ways. It's more like cottonmouth. Meh. I'd stick to something else, though it is interesting and I'm glad I drank it.
