Aoi - May 31, 2012Raisin, malty, beautiful to the pallet. Warms my heart with the 10% abv, couldn't have asked for a better beer after dinner. Drinking it in a tulip glass, never a pint glass like the picture shows.
ishkybob - March 13, 2012Dark red-amber, slightly hazy pour with lacy head. Spicy licorice flavor and bite.
mdpmclean - February 19, 2012This was fantastic from the beginning. Pours a rich, amber hue with an extravagant head that dissipates slowly an laces cleanly around the glass. Aroma had strong phenols to it, but also lots of sweet caramel notes and some underlying hops.
The flavour was bold and rich with caramel malts, and it was well-balanced with a lightly hoppy, dry finish. Felt medium bodied and left a delicious aftertaste.
Overall, I was incredibly satisfied. One of my favourite beers yet.
