Chocolately taste at first...I did not enjoy it. Not at smooth as some other stouts. Average beer IMHO. Not planning on drinking again.

Fantastic smooth taste. Like advertised, not piercing like a dry stout. I am a dark beer drinker and this is tasty.

Loved it. Definite a toasty stout with coffee notes and a hint of chocolate there. I don't really see the comparison to Guinness that others do. Definitely sweeter and more flavorful.

Good combination of sweet and roasted favors but not as thick as expected. Pretty light for the color and flavor offered.

Decent stout. Strong coffee notes.

Full body, toasty, not as smooth as Guinness in my opinion. First half went down easier than the last half.

One of my favorite stouts of all time. Not too heavy or light. And definitely can taste the creaminess in it! Great beer

Excellent, not too heavy for a stout.

Very good stout!!! This one gives Guinness a run for their money!!!

nice and toasty, pretty mild and a little watery. I really like sam adams' stouts, and this is no exception, but it's not mind blowing. It's a safe, comfortable, familiar choice. Might be tolerable for people who don't like dark beers, probably wouldn't be acceptable to people with only drink "the best".
