Golden straw color with frothy head that bubbles up aggressively. Distinct hop flavor with excessive carbonation. Almost sour with no distinguishable flavors and bitter finish. Kind of a let down for such a well known beer. This is undeserving of the Trappist designation.

Hoppy, not sweet. Not bad

Yeasty, citrus, funk, and weed. That sums up this beer. You either love it or hate it.

Pale orange in color with a sharp nose, intense hop flavor, pungent hop finish and a long dry aftertaste. This beer is very complex in aroma and flavor with a unique mouthfeel. This beer is not for everyone, but is highly regarded among beer afficianados. Orval is one of the only true Belgium Brewing Monasteries

Hugely carbonated, mountains of foam. Pale and very clear. Very clean flavor with a subtle hop bite; fruity nose and fruity, sugary aftertaste.

I try and try, but still not in love with Belgium ales. This one is a bit spicy, quite bitter with a bite, stringent. A small amount of fruity sweetness on the nose. It is extremely foamy!

Not impressed and I absolutely love all the other trappiste brands I've had so far.. It is really light for 6.9%, however a strange lingering spicy, hoppy, and bitter combo. 2 stars
