Extremely dark, even for a brown ale. As someone said it's almost stout like. Dark rich flavors. Really bold beer that isn't for the faint of heart. Another great beer by dogfish head profile - November 21, 2014

Very close to a desert beer. profile - October 7, 2014
So much going on with this beer. The high alcohol is well blended in the flavor. A nice high end brown. This is one hell of a beer

Near black. Slight reddish hue. Nose is subtle brown sugar and spice. Rich creamy mouthfeel. Some spice from the wood. Really good
