Dominantly oaky, with a light flavor of hops. Not as hoppy as a typical ipa, and fairly smooth. Medium body and lots of flavor.

Tasted: regular capped bottle. An orange- amber color, surprisingly clear. Grapefruit/ tropic hops and a nutty vanilla oak aroma upfront. The taste is of piney/resin hops , a touch of the citrus hop, and heavy caramel, oak with a hint of nuts. A very complex brew. The finish is a touch dry with the high abv coming through.

For high abv it's very drinkable. Hop heads must try. Very smooth with a bite. The best imperial ipa available year round in my mind.

Didn't think it could get better than 90 minute. But this smoky addition smooths it out even more. Delicious.

Didn't really taste like an IPA to me. Wasn't a bad beer but wasn't a fave. More barley wine like to me.

I normally pass on IPA's.. Just don't care for a very hoppy beer. A friend of mine turned me on to this, and I loved it! None of the bitter bite I normally associate with an IPA. Nice full flavor and ABV kick, too.
