Good, but very strong - the intensity takes away from the flavor. Couldn't drink more than a taster of this at a time.

500th beer rated. During Super Bowl 02/03/13. Paired with pot stickers , tempura shrimp, and Buffalo wings.
Awesome beer!

Possible for there to be too much of a good thing--just maybe. Hoppy, with a hint of porter-like toasted malt. Heavyweight contender; not for the faint budded.

This has a wonderful malty front end flavor and is nice to drink. However, the bitterness is strong and lingers in the moth for some time.

Nose: honey walnut shrimp, soy sauce, peach, mango, and apricot. A little noble pine and pineapple upside down cake. Palate: caramel, orange rind, dark chocolate, fleur de sal, espresso beans, over ripe pineapple, and bananas fosters with burnt organic sugar. Finish: egg cream, Haitian vanilla, nutmeg, duck a la orange. Aftertaste: toasted pecans, persimmon cake, ginger, orange bitters, saffron. One of my all-time favorites. Complex, soothing. Fucking delicious.

01/29/13 : Aromas of citrus, pepper, and hops with slight undertones of caramel and yeast. Sweet caramel start blending to a citrus and zesty, but slightly alcoholic finish.

Mouthfeel- low carbonation, bitter tinge on front of tongue post-swallow
Odor- slight nutty aroma
Appearance- opaque, light burgundy, minimal white head with short legs
Taste- heavy malts with low bitterness for such a strong ale, surprisingly light for 11.2%
