johnniepants - October 19, 2012Solid dark, full of flavor. Each drink keeps its taste and it doesn't change. Delicious!! A very thick drink.

Nathaniel - October 16, 2012Deep rich slightly fruity sweetness. Delicious. New, intriguing flavors not previously noticed in other ales. Intensely satisfying.

ckeough - October 15, 2012Amazing. Wife says it tastes like Optimator x 200. Hop oils and sweet caramel mix in perfection. A very special brew.

beerbud - October 13, 2012Wow.what masterpiece.this ale is pure art.sipper for sure.snifter full of complexity and thicker then most stouts ive had.i will let this beer age in my cellar

davl22 - October 2, 2012Crazy complex, caramel, vanilla, cinnamon, chocolate, bourbon/rum on the nose and jet black in the glass. All the above in flavor plus licorice/raisin once it warmed up. I'll give it 5 stars once it ages a couple of years to mellow the alcohol.

svenllr - October 1, 2012Labeled a brown ale, this beer pours black and like syrup. It's a bit of a surprise the first time and may even scare off some beer drinkers but don't let the inaccurate color description do that or you'll be missing out on a tasty brew. Rated at 12% ABV, you're left doubting the label after one, two, and even three sips. The alcohol is well hidden in the thick rich ale with its delicious candy liquor taste. Like the pour, the sip is thick and slick and simply slides down your throat coating it with a request to drink more. The pink label bottle almost makes your eyes think there is a hint of the hue in the brownish head and maybe there is. It's just one more thing that makes this "brown" ale as interesting as the wood it's brewed in.

kreyn90 - September 20, 2012Coffee flavor. Black. Syrupy. Woody. Not worth money get yeti imperial stout or mcsorleys black. Taste very similar

pagnani - September 12, 2012Extra half star for 12%. smokey, woody, expresso, roasted malts. Pretty smooth. Definitely for sipping, or would be overwhelming. Kind of bitter...
